Born and bred in hardy New England
Unsustainable ends here.
We are a founder-owned home services company from Hudson, Massachusetts. One team that designs, installs, and services the whole house, so it is comfortable, resilient, efficient, and beautiful, and stays that way.
The story
We built the company we wished we’d had.
Team Sunshine started with a problem the four of us kept running into. Between us we had 33 years of selling home improvements to New England families, and we could not find an installer we trusted to finish what we had promised. Timelines slipped. Phones went unanswered. The homeowner, the one person the whole thing was supposed to be for, was the last to hear anything.
So in 2019 we started our own company, and in early 2022 we stood up our own install crews on our own trucks. The idea has not changed: we strive to build the company we wish we had as salespeople. Homeowners first. Speed and communication, because a good job that takes seven months and three unanswered calls is not a good job. One team that designs the work, installs it, and picks up the phone afterward.
We are HVAC-led because comfort is where most people feel their house failing first, and because a right-sized heat pump in a tight house is the biggest single upgrade most New England homes can make. Solar is one of the tools in the kit. So are roofing, insulation, windows and doors, siding, batteries, generators, and the electrical to carry all of it. The house decides which ones it needs.
Born and bred in hardy New England, we know what a January cold snap, a July heat wave, and a nor’easter do to a house. Now we are modernizing homes from Maine to Florida, with the same idea in a different climate: fix the cause, not the symptom, and make it look like it belongs.
How we work
Four principles, on every job.
01
A house is one system.
The mechanicals, the envelope, and the energy gear either work together or they fight each other. We plan them together, so the heat pump is sized for a tight house, the roof is ready for what goes on it, and the battery carries what actually matters when the street goes dark.
02
One team, start to finish.
The people who design your plan are the people who install it and the people who answer the phone afterward. No handoffs to a subcontractor you have never met, no three companies pointing at each other.
03
The problem first, the product second.
We start with what is wrong with the house, not with what we would like to sell. Sometimes the answer is a smaller system in a tighter house. Sometimes it is a roof before anything else. We say so.
04
Make it look like it belongs.
Line sets tucked, condensers placed with the yard in mind, panels laid out with the roofline, a pergola that is a room and a power plant. Comfortable. Resilient. Efficient. Beautiful, in that order and all four.
Founder-owned and operated
Four founders. Still on the jobs.
Founded 2019. Owner-operated means the people whose names are on the license are the people accountable for your house.

Since 2019
Where we have been, and where we work.
2019
Founded in Hudson, Massachusetts by four salespeople who could not find an installer they trusted.
2022
Our own crews on our own trucks, so the plan and the install are the same people.
